What problems should be paid attention to in the production of ACSR?

1. Conductor surface oil

Overhead transmission lines with steel core aluminum strand is often questioned or even returned by customers due to surface quality problems. This phenomenon mainly occurs in the stretching process, the main reasons are as follows:

  (1)The size of the finished wire drawing die of the steel core aluminum stranded wire is too large, the compression ratio is too small, and the working area of the wire drawing die is too small to remove the oil on the wire surface;

(2) The temperature of the grease is too low and the viscosity is too high, which is not easy to exert, causing the drawing oil to adhere to the surface of the aluminum wire;

(3) The wiping felt at the exit of the finished mold is too dirty;

(4) When stranding, the stranding body or traction wheel is too dirty;

(5) Too much water under the traction wheel.

In view of the above reasons, in order to avoid oil stains on the wire surface, a suitable wire drawing die should be selected and the temperature of the grease should be adjusted. Wipe the thread to often replace the felt, twist the thread to keep the equipment and mold clean and free of oil.

2. Wire surface scratches

Because there are metal sharp objects in wire drawing equipment and wire drawing die or stranding equipment and stranding die, surface scratches are easy to produce during wire drawing or stranding. Such defects affect the surface quality of the conductor, and corona is generated due to the unevenness of the conductor during operation of the conductor. Therefore, once the surface scratch phenomenon is found, the cause should be checked immediately from the equipment or mold.

3. Wire scratches

Continuous scratches on wires are a common cause of corona, which is one of the important causes of power loss in power systems. In order to avoid the occurrence of scratches on ACSR, the following aspects should be controlled in production: first, consider the wire itself; first, ensure that the aluminum rod is not affected with moisture; the aluminum rod is affected with moisture, which causes the aluminum chips in the working area of the wire drawing die hole to stay, and the lubricating oil cannot all enter the working area, resulting in uneven and unsmooth drawn aluminum wire. Second, the drawing oil should be kept clean and not damp. During the wire drawing process, the wire drawing oil is in a high temperature state when it enters the work area from the lubrication area. If it contains a certain amount of water, the lubricating oil will be diluted, and the lubrication effect will be greatly reduced, causing scratches and broken ends of the aluminum wire.

Secondly, from the perspective of the production of ACSR, the following issues should be paid attention:

During the drawing of ACSR:

(1) Check whether the mold of the wire drawing machine is placed accurately;

(2) Check whether there is a groove after the wire drawing roller is rubbed, and whether there is a line pressing phenomenon;

(3) Check whether the surface finish of the lubrication area of the wire drawing die meets the requirements and whether there is aluminum chip blockage.
