How is ACSR produced? ACSR is made of high carbon steel wire rod, cold drawn into steel wire after surface treatment, then a certain number of steel wires are twisted into strands according to the steel strand structure, and then made by de-stress stabilization process. In order to extend the durability, the steel wire can be coated with a metal or non-metal coating, such as zinc plating and epoxy resin coating. The main factor causing the steel core aluminum strand rust is the relative humidity, that is, the percentage of water vapor content and saturated water vapor content in the atmosphere at the same temperature. Although the corrosion rate is small, but higher than the relative humidity, the corrosion rate suddenly increases. This relative humidity is the critical humidity, the critical humidity of many metals between 2/5 and 4/5, the critical humidity of steel is about 3/4. The relative humidity of the atmosphere has a great influence on the corrosion of the steel core aluminum stranded wire. When the critical humidity is lower than the humidity in the atmosphere, water droplets or water films will appear on the surface of the steel core aluminum strand. If the atmosphere contains harmful impurities, when they are dissolved in water droplets, water films and electrolytes, it will aggravate corrosion. Therefore, the storage environment selected by the manufacturer requires dry, ventilated, cool, etc. to reduce the amount of water vapor in the air.
As we all know, the main problem of steel reinforced aluminum stranded wire storage is to prevent corrosion. If the ex-factory products of ACSR are corroded and rusted, it will not only affect the appearance, but also affect the performance of ACSR.
